Dreaming in San Anselmo

Oh, this is just lovely. This 1097 sq ft PoS, built in 1940, interior not redone at all, is in San Anselmo. Nice garage doors though; although taken for granted in much of the country, attached garages are a real luxury in many parts of Marin. But hey, the sellers are only asking $719,000. Everyone wants to live here, right?

Incidentally, the house shown in the background and at the top of this picture is a different house.

In this one, the picture shows another house above/behind the one here?

So it's really a garage "on steriods" that's listed?

If that thing sells - how does one explain they would want to live in this place for that kind of money? It must be hard not to laugh in their face.

This blog is trying to demonstrate that there must be "intangibles" that drive the Marin RE market because certainly value and rationality do not govern here. How else to explain the insane house buying decisions in Marin?
