'RTFRs Before Making Offer' in San Anselmo

Built in 1931, 2 br 1 ba, 1350 sq ft POS in San Anselmo. Asking $649,000. The realtor's write-up reveals it to be the POS that it is:
Contractor's delight...Grandma's sweet cottage in a delightful neighborhood needs some work...Please read pest and home inspection reports prior to making offer...This home has loads of potential...
Any grandma's out there with a spare $650K? Oh, I'm sorry, this is what today's Marin professionals have to look forward to. I forgot.

Load of potential - more like loads of rates, mice, termites..

Now, I really want to read that inspection..

The garage/spare room that appears to have been grafted on to the right-hand side of the house at some point after initial construction makes this rather ordinary, humble little cottage a true POS. Couldn't they have at least tried to keep it proportional? It looks like a growth.

Not to mention a roofline that matches the rest of the house; who combines a flat roof with spanish tile? If they did it right the first time, it would have far more curb appeal.

Actually, that garage roof looks like a minimalist's castle turret to me.

Sure, I can see that; perhaps it explains that tiny window. One man's PoS is another man's castle?
