Butt Ugly Townhouse in "Prestigious" Marinwood

This is one ugly townhouse. It is within beer-can-throwing distance to the 101 so it is great for those of you who like to hear freeway noise and breathe exhaust soot. But what do you care? It's Marin! And I'm sure you can find a realtor who will assuage your lingering doubts (you know, those unfortunately very faint, nagging voices-of-reason in the back of you brain which, if you are seriously considering paying anything close to the full asking price of $585,000, has shriveled into a dried-out husk) and assure you that this is a great starter home for any young family; they always are.

$585K? As pricey as Marin goes, you can still find an OK waterfront condo for less than that...WTH.

I get that "She's gonna blow in Fairfax" is a PoS but this? OK, it's a townhouse, but it is at least 3 bedrooms, has a garage and a minimum 1500SF which puts it at $400-ish/SF, much less than the $900-$1000/SF garageless, flood- and landslide-prone condemned shacks you have been posting. The major stuff has been maintained by the HOA and the freeway noise is somewhat obstructed by being several hundred yards away with a strip mall between it and 101. It is also in one of the best school districts.

It isn't anyone's idea of a dream house but it is, for once, a reasonable place to actually raise a family, unlike most of what you post.

Jeez, you're gonna start coming after my condo complex next. We have a couple of places here on the market asking more than this one AND we are in "the place to be" -- Novato. (BTW, I am not making this up, get yourself a brochure -- this is Novato's tourism slogan. I am so proud.)

You are going to have to start posting Non-PoS' because just everything is in your crosshairs these days.

Stick to your guns Marinite. If it's really that close to the highway it's a POS at that price.

Unless it's HUGE. but I'm going to guess that that's not the case. just a wild guess.

1550 sq ft, 4 br 3 ba, lot is 2100 sq ft. $376/sq ft. Rejunkie is right...this one is hard to defend as a POS relative to everything else on this blog. That's why commentors are so valuable.

You are correct on one point -- the style of faux spanish mission crossed with 70s townhouse does equal butt ugly.
