Surrealistic POS in Lagunitas

1 br 1 ba, 672 sq ft, built 1949. Asking $575,000. I want to say it looks like an outhouse in a state park except that this Lagunitas POS comes with its own outhouse. I'd really like to meet the person who actually thinks something like this is worth over half a million dollars; I think I could use them as the basis of a lucrative pop-psychology book or two.

And what's up with the realtor posting this picture of a stone chicken?

We have truly entered the surreal.

Holy crap! I seriously had a nightmare about this place last night. It looked just like this place, except it was more like 500 sq-ft it was on some kind of lake, and it was attached to a real estate office next door. They only wanted $250k for it, so in retrospect, that was a pretty damn good deal.

That's the original inhabitant of this "house".

Ah. Sort of like a memorial. Now I understand. Thanks.

You also have to separate the "investor/speculator" mentality from the "owner occupier" mentality. There is a lot of housing speculation and investment in Marin. If you were thinking of buying to own to occupy, then you think anyone who pays that price for that POS is "insane". If you have the mentality of an investor/speculator, then it may not seem insane.
